I miss home. Moving back to London was always going to be bittersweet. I knew that after the months of complaining I’d miss the Isle of Wight as soon as I left it; I’ve always been the kind of person to not realise how good they’ve got it until it’s gone. (And then obsess about it afterwards.) Having lived in London before I’ve known that I’m a country girl at heart, no matter how many restaurants and galleries want to tempt me otherwise. The only thing I underestimated this time round was just how much.

So in the midst of trying to find as many amazing parks and slips of green as I possibly can, I visited the mother of all gardens in London – Kew. Once with fellow photographer Lydia Harper who’s work I absolutely adore and once more with the incredible duo behind Absintheminded Magazine – Peter & Fiona. Not only did both times satisfy my ache for a bit of greenery but it also showed me just how important reaching out to people within the creative community can be. Maybe these are the two things I can appreciate before they’re gone.
